This book gives a detailed and precise insight into clinical history taking, examination, case studies, instruments and operative procedures. I would like to highlight the lucid language and comprehensive content of chapters which makes the subject interesting. This book should also help the students in observing and understanding clinical techniques and patient rounds. I congratulate Dr. Vikas Sinha for the tremendous efforts he has put into making this book as complete as possible. The chapters are well written, planned and organized. I am sure this will be of immense help to all medical students as well as aspiring surgeons.

This book is the result of a painstaking and laborious effort by the author to provide a systematic approach to the learning of the subject of Otorhinolaryngology for the undergraduate students.  The comprehensive chapters on the importance of history taking and clinical examination of otorhinolaryngology will help the students to imbibe the basics of E.N.T.  The important topics for practical aspects of the undergraduate curriculum have been adequately dealt with in this book.  Practical topics have been properly highlighted and include the different foramina of skull base, applied anatomy of skull bones, the technique and intricacies in cranial nerve examination, audiology, calorimetry and the study of X-rays relevant to E.N.T.  I recommend this book to all undergraduates to refresh their knowledge while preparing for their practical exams.  I feel this book will go a long way in fulfilling the pressing need for good undergraduate books in our specialty.

Practical E.N.T. by Dr Vikas  Sinha is one of the few books in ENT which stresses the importance of the patient history in respect to different ENT diseases.  In this regard this book fills a large vacuum for the resident and new clinician.  The language is this book is easy to understand and is not written in a style which may be confusing to the beginning student.  Students should find it very easy to understand.

When medical students have first posting in ENT, they have virtually no idea how to proceed with an ENT examination of ENT. This book is ideal for them to understand the basic steps in the art of history taking and the book guides them to a diagnosis.  The book is ideal for the bed side teaching. This book is short yet comprehensive.

The different sections of the book, for example, osteology and applied anatomy of bone of the head and neck, are very much to the point and make it easy for the clinician to refresh his knowledge.  There is also a short but very informative section on ENT instruments.  The audiology and calorimetry section is well written and easy to comprehend.

At the end of the book, there is a frequently asked question (FAQ) section which makes students quickly to go through important points of topic before taking an examination. Overall this book is an excellent resource not only for those students who are enrolled in a basic medical course but also for those clinicians who are pursuing the higher studies of ENT.  This book is truly a "Practical E.N.T" book.  I strongly recommend this clinical resource.
